 Ruth (Riki) and her husband Robert
(Bob) Criddle are Both Authors.
Their passion and commitment to preserving local history is a boon for
the Yuba-Sutter Communities for generations to come. Together
they have produced six volumes of local history.
Ruth "Riki" Criddle is a fifth generation Californian who was born in
Pasadena, and attended public schools there until high school where she
graduated from Westtown (preparatory) School in Pennsylvania. She
graduated from Chico State College where she met Bob and settled in Marysville.
In addition to teaching a variety of
Medical classes for several educational facilities, including Butte and
Yuba College, she also taught 5th grade and has just recently
retired.
Ruth plays an integral role in the publication of the Hammonton
Marigold interviews and has authored a biography and cookbook featuring
Katie Lim.
Robert “Bob” Criddle Jr. is a third-generation product of two sets
of grandparents who settled in the two towns of Hammonton and Marigold.
The towns’ unofficial historian, he has received thousands of
photographs and conducted hundreds of oral history interviews with
former residents. The interviews have been published in several
volumes.
