 Louise
Butts was born in Portland, Tennessee. Her family moved to
California when she was nine. She is a graduate of California
State University at Chico, California and has done graduate work at the
University of California at Davis, California State University at
Sacramento and the College of the pacific.
In 1965 and 1966 she
was a member of the Publications and Curriculum Development Committee
at the University of California at Davis.
She taught history and English in junior high
school for over twenty-two years. She taught at Live Oak, Sutter
County: Rio vista, Solano County; and in Butte and Tulare Counties. Her
Husband Edwin Hendrix retired as a superintendent of schools in Sutter
County California.
She was for many years a newspaper correspondent for the Marysville
Appeal-Democrat; Sacramento Bee; and Oroville Mercury-Register.
