| Biography: |
Bill Crocker was born and raised in Fredonia, New York. He attended Purdue University and Miami University, graduating with a Master of Science in Microbiology. He served twenty-six years on active and reserve duty as a microbiologist with the U.S. Navy, retiring with the rank of commander. He is also retired from a twenty-six-year civilian career in health-care administration.
Bill began writing in 1995 and, over the next three years, produced humorous personal essays for periodicals and his home-town newspaper. His eclectic writing includes four books: a personal memoir entitled The Coffee Man’s Kid: Escapades from the Twentieth Century; Delta Upsilon at Purdue University, 1914-2004: Ninety Years of Fraternity Life; Wacky Track to Independence, a humorous mystery; and Fredonia High School Class of 1956 Book of Memories.
Currently, Bill is completing a comprehensive genealogy entitled The Crocker and Cunningham Family Histories. His second humorous mystery, The Trials of Alphonse Arbor-Phart, is scheduled for completion in 2009.
Despite careers in science and health-care administration, Bill remains addicted to humor, grammar, and punctuation. He is committed to humorous embellishment, double-entendres, alliteration, and becomes positively orgasmic over a well-placed comma.
Bill lives with Karen, his wife of forty-six years, in Yuba City, California. They have two children and two grandchildren.
Bill is the Administrator of Amicus Books Literary Lounge. His dedication to the project has transported it from a good idea to a great community program. His experience has been an excellent foundation for established authors and budding authors to build upon.
