The is the first book review featured on Amicus Books website in which the author has written a full and discriptive review of his own work. But then this is not any ordinary book, and Gregory Cox is not any ordinary author. His book was written specifically for the purpose of changing the World from disconnected and inbalanced to a state of cohesion and equailty.

The following is exerpts from a letter in Cox's own words in reference to his passion, purpose and ideas:

“Nothing may be accomplished until a platform of commonality is achieved. For success, it is imperative we implement a modification, which not only embraces this commonality; it must honor and enhance each individual based upon their foundation right of equal value because they exist.

Currently we have endured a system, which honors, and rewards, only the aggressive, and gifted producers of the world. While this has led to the problems we are currently facing, it is not entirely wrong. Common sense dictates, "To the swiftest will go the race." However, if we apply the compassion shown in the Special Olympics, where all are rewarded for their participation, we can implement a situation, which accomplishes exactly the order I, claim must exist. Further, it is vital this reward not be viewed as welfare, or gratuitous in nature. In other words, it must be understood to be a right of participation. This will engender a situation where all people are brought into participation with their system, rather than fighting against their system. When this happens we have addressed the social illnesses of society, the only way any illness may be cured, is by addressing causation.

"There are no accidents, only cause and effect." A further accomplishment will be the reduction of social disease to its lowest possible existence. "All things are meant to exist, however in an unbalanced society they exist in disproportionate values."

There has occurred, in history, a very remarkable, even divine event, and this event has opened a door for the accomplishment of the society I claim must exist. That milestone event was the founding of America. This event is so remarkable, and yet unfulfilled, we fail to see its implication. In all of history, we can find no like event to which we can compare it. For the first time, thoughts and dreams, which had for all existence, been denied, and against the law, became the law. Of all the territories, discovered, and colonized only America formed a new and here-to-fore non-existent form of society. "We hold these truths self evident, all men are created equal." If that phrase, by its self, does not send shivers down your spine you are brain dead. The power of those words are so awesome, a person could spend their entire life analyzing their implication. However, they have shown to be seeds, which have fallen upon rocky soil. The fact that racism can exist in a society founded upon these words; shows clearly that this founding is unfulfilled. "When all citizens of a nation do not comprehend the structure of that nation, that structure does not exist."

"We, the people of the United States," here is the leverage which makes this open door available. This opening sentence of the Preamble to the Constitution defines exactly how this cannot be prevented from occurring. How can we ever address the disparity of haves and have-nots? How can any person defend the reality that one-percent of the world’s population controls forty percent of the wealth, and ten-percent control ninety-percent? The resources of the earth are finite, and any hope of bringing the rest of society into this bounty is a pipedream without addressing this gap. All the rhetoric about education, being the answer, is fallacious, however well intended. All education can hope to accomplish is the enfranchisement of those capable of acquiring the advanced skills necessary that they too become abusers of those less gifted. The result of this approach will be a more rapid depletion of the earth’s resources. Yes, I realize this will occur regardless of which system is in place; however, our intent should be for the longevity of society on earth. With this, as a reasonable goal, it should be apparent the most efficient way to accomplish this is a redistribution of that which already exists.

… I am not talking about equal distribution, just a fair distribution. Balance, balance, balance, a just way of acknowledging the equality of all, and rewarding the uniqueness of each individual human being.

Honor the mother and father, honor the sibling, honor thy self, and it will shortly be the norm, then we can have a platform for discussion, rather than a need for war. For when we all are included, and participate, it behooves us to find the path of workability.

I have said this cannot be prevented, and this is the case. I have designed this concept based upon the most powerful stimulus in existence…Self-interest. The uniqueness and power of this goal is that by fulfilling your self-interest you automatically enhance the status of every other person as well. It is a system without losers. It does not rend the fabric of society, as with violent revolution, it merely shifts the current paradigm to be more inclusive, and humane. On that note, let us call this system Humanenomics.

Humanenomics goal is the inclusion of all people into their system of society, based upon their equality of existence. This is done by taking key areas of economy and declaring them the right of all individuals to share in. As the resources of the earth are pretty well controlled at this stage of the game it is necessary to focus on areas of the economy to accomplish our goal. I have chosen four areas, which I feel, should be the purview of all peoples, and these are defined as follows.

One: Banking and Insurance. Two: Food and clothing. Three: Medical care. Four: Education. Let me explain why these four areas are, I feel, vital to this concept. Banking is the area, which is the most venal of all endeavors. This situation occurs because of the economic credo, "Maximize profit for the investors." As public corporations, banking’s focus strives to fulfill this maximum, and this creates a situation where they fail to respond to the very foundation of their existence. It is the depositors themselves who are required to fund, through numerous and unjust fees, the funneling of their funds into the hands of stockholders of the corporation. Banking has lost sight of exactly whom it is, which makes their existence possible. Their voracious fervor in fulfilling this economic credo creates a situation where they are virtually consuming their foundation in-order to accomplish this goal. I fail to believe that any decent thinking human being can see this as honorable. The usurious application of interest and penalties on bankcards, and the endless manipulation of charges and fees, for every transaction, is unconscionable. The power they have acquired through these means has made them virtually untouchable by regulatory agencies. Therefore, this makes them a key ingredient for our purpose.

Just a little more on banking, when a system of trust is placed into the hands of a few its purpose becomes skewed to favor those few. It is imperative that banking be made to perform honorably and with scrupulous attention to the welfare of its depositors. This is even more important in a system designed to favor the aggressive and more gifted. I say this because such a system is already top heavy with advantage. Every time a bank taxes the resources of the middle and bottom portion of this society, it magnifies and reinforces their lower position. This further produces a condition of hopelessness and benevolent slavery. It is unfair and uncalled for; therefore, here I say is a prime area, which must be brought into line for all peoples.

Insurance on the other hand by its necessity also should belong to the people. The fact this commodity is required for basic security makes it ideal for our purposes. Food and clothing should be self- explanatory due to their required nature for the expression of a reasonable quality of life. When considered financially these areas are foundations of life, and provide the building blocks with which to free humanity from abject poverty. This will be shown as we progress into further discussion of Humaneomics.

Medical care, and education, here we have situations which do not require profitability their requirements are equality. Every human being, based on their equal value of existence, deserves full and equal access to these services. When we have achieved these requirements, we have finally produced a level playing field from which true competition can thrive.

Let me outline the method of implementation. Free enterprise states that everybody has the right to establish a business and compete in the free market. Private ownership guarantees the owners of an endeavor the right to the profits accrued from their venture. Competition states, "If you build a better mouse trap, the world will beat a path to your door."

In light of these rights, let us establish corporations, which address the four areas I have claimed for humanity, (free enterprise). These corporations are to be established for the benefit of humanity, and to humanity belongs the ownership. This is insured through the expedient of stock issuance. One share issued to each individual, and nobody allowed owning more than that figure.

Now we have a situation where each owner receives the profits from their participation returned on an annual basis into a retirement account for their future wellbeing (private ownership). These monies are available at retirement in any way they choose, and are fully inheritable. We have now accomplished a fair and reasonable redistribution of resources back down the ladder of humanity. What this does is remarkable in effect. Economic reasoning states, "The more money in a broad base of an economy, the stronger is that economy. The stronger is the economy, the stronger is the nation."

(Competition), we have established a better mousetrap. A system, which honors each individual’s efforts, plus removes the necessity for Government entitlements for the welfare of the citizens. For the inclusion of those unable to participate in this system, we apply the root values of all God oriented instruction books. Ten-percent of the increase or the giving of alms is to be directed to the advancement of those too devastated under our current order. In one generation, we have effectively included these people based upon their right to participate. Think of the self-image change we can engender into this segment of society. That fact plus, now it becomes apparent that acts against the social structure become act against themselves. As this reality becomes the mindset, we should see a marked decrease in this behavior, and an opposite increase in participation within society. All of these benefits should further provide a platform where a greater segment of society now takes an interest in their society. This should be clearly demonstrated when viewing the increase in voting percentage. Finally, we have an all-inclusive system, which cares for and honors all citizens. I feel this is a good thing and sorely needed before we can truly address world peace.

One: a person of caring intent could easily establish an insurance corporation based on this premise, and the competitive edge would provide all the impetus required to achieve all the results. Two: "We the people," could join in a neighborly fashion, and each contributes a nominal amount on a monthly basis to achieve this goal. For this method to work it takes the dissemination of this information, thus I write. My novel, "Schizophrenic Rescue," published by Dragonpublishing, which describes a fictional effort of this concept, has been read by more than three thousand people around the world. This reading was done through the auspices of the World Wide Web, and occurred before it was even published. Now that it is published, it is my intent to walk from California, to Chicago for raising awareness of this work. At some point in time, the light shall come on."

Images of America: Yuba Feather Hills, by Rosemarie MossingerYuba Feather Hills, part of the Images of America series published by Arcadia Press, is an absolutely wonderful historical outline of the Yuba County communities between Marysville and the Sierra Nevadas. The Yuba and Feather Rivers flank a rugged portion of the Sierra Nevada as they rush south. Gold in creeks and streams here attracted thousands of treasure hunters who panned, dug, or scoured the hills with hydraulic jets of water.
